MISSION

Our mission is to develop scientific temper and provide experimentation and research facility to every science enthusiast. We start with the most basic step: to bring Science out of textbooks. We aim at enabling the common citizens to enjoy and recognise the miracles of Science in their daily lives.

STRATEGY

We have devised the KEA strategy, meaning thereby to Know, to Experience and to Apply. First, we KNOW or understand the Concept. Then we EXPERIENCE the concept by discovering its working in day-to-day life. Finally, we APPLY that concept in building a product, thus laying the foundation of innovation!

VIPRA has 4 learning and experimentation groups: Primary (grade 3-5); Secondary (grade 6-8); Advanced (grade 9-12) and Graduate (graduate and above).

EDUCATORS

Our educators mostly have a degree in the related field, but not always. What they essentially have is the PASSION to teach and a FLAIR to explain the experiments.

ABOUT VIGYAN PRAGYA

Right knowledge has been the aim of all seers and philosophers. Lord Krishna distinguishes the two aspects of knowledge in Gita: GYAN and VIGYAN, which can perhaps be translated as Cause and Purpose. Here are the relevant extras from Gita:
न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशम पवित्रमिह विद्यते, meaning, there is nothing as purifying as divine knowledge in this world (4/38).
ज्ञानं स विज्ञानं इदं नेह भूयो अन्यत ज्ञातव्यं अवशिष्यते, meaning, nothing remains to be known after knowing a thing along with its Vigyan (7/2).
क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोर्ज्ञानं यत्तज्ज्ञानं मतं मम (13/3), i.e, “to understand this body and its owner is called knowledge”.
Thus, the Vedic thought of Science takes in its realm the Spirit as much as it does the Matter.

VIPRA was first conceptualized by two retired teachers as GYAN VIGYAN on the Buddha Poornima of 2016, with the aim to popularize Science as a source of Power – power of knowledge, thought and action. A humble beginning was made with the launch of teaching Science in an interactive manner to the street children of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad (see past activities). Gradually, the registration as Vigyan Pragya as a non-profit organization came around Radhashtmi – the incarnation day of Yogmaya – the ultimate abode of all science! VIPRA is committed to popularizing science research and innovation among all age groups and make Science a mass movement. Today, VIPRA is recognized as a Start-up by the Government of India. Students, Teachers, Doctors, Scientists, Professionals and Bureaucrats are joining VIPRA to contribute to this mass movement of Science. To join and contribute, please click here.
