For the first time I saw a medley of haphazard facts fall into line and order… As though one were standing beside a jungle and it suddenly transformed it self into a Dutch garden.

To remove the defects in Mendeleev’s periodic law, many scientists put forward their theories. But finally, English physicist, Henry Moseley proposed that the physical and chemical properties of the elements change in a systematic and predictable way when arranged in the increasing order of their atomic numbers. This periodic repetition of properties in elements is due to the presence of similar valence shell configurations after certain intervals. Usually these repetitions are seen after intervals of 2,8,18 or 32 in atomic numbers.

1. Only 1/5th of the Ocean floor mapped by humans so far
When the Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project was launched in 2017, only 6% of the global ocean bottom had been surveyed to what might be called modern standards.

That number now stands at 19%, up from 15% in just the last year. Some 14.5 million sq km of new bathymetric (depth) data was included in the GEBCO grid in 2019 – an area equivalent to almost twice that of Australia.

“Scarily, cadmium is not even the worst poison among the elements. It sits above mercury, a neurotoxin. And to the right of mercury sit the most horrific mug shots on the periodic table—thallium, lead, and polonium—the nucleus of poisoner’s corridor.”
